NASAR National Association for Search and Rescue

The National Association For Search And Rescue (NASAR) has been in existence since 1972.

DVG America welcomes  you.


In addition to IGP, DVG offers many obedience and tracking titles, providing competition opportunities for all people who love to train dogs. DVG exists for only one purpose –– training and titling dogs of all breeds.

AWDF American Working Dog Federation

The American Working Dog Federation (AWDF) was founded on June 17, 1989 in St. Louis, Missouri. Its ongoing purpose is to develop awareness in the United States of the need to provide a strong foundation for, and to represent, the working dog throughout the world.

The AWDF provides a platform for organizations dedicated to preserving the working characteristics of their breeds.

American Rettungshunde Sport Association

The American Rettungshunde Sport Association (ARSA) is dedicated to the search and rescue sport. It is incorporated as a non-stock (not-for-profit) corporation in the State of Virginia and is a member of the American Working Dog Federation. 
ARSA operates under the international rules issued jointly by the Federation Cynologique Internationale (FCI) and the International Rescue Dog Organization (IRO).

American Schutzund

To restore and maintain Schutzhund as a relevant breed suitability test for working dogs in America. American Schutzhund will test the ability of the dog to withstand stress and continue to function in difficult situations.

PSA K9 - Protection Sport Association

In each successive level the dog-handler team is asked to negotiate obedience and protection routines that are increasingly complex, difficult in terms of pressure from both decoys and environmental distractions, and as well the handlers must strategize how to work through scenarios involving risk-reward tradeoffs. 

Search and Rescue Dogs of the United States

Our mission is to Local, State, and Federal search and rescue dog teams by providing education, training, and certification to National Standards.


SARDUS has NIMS compliant standards in Area, Trailing, HRD, Avalanche, Water, and Disaster Search. 

United Schutzhund Clubs of America

We are an organization dedicated to protecting and preserving the German Shepherd Dog’s working heritage by hosting conformation shows, breed surveys, and Schutzhund trials. These “exams” are major contributors in ensuring that we consistently breed only the finest dogs and ensure that the German Shepherd dog continues to be the best and most versatile breed.

International Search and Rescue Organization

The International Search and Rescue Dog Organization (IRO) is the worldwide representation for 127 national search and rescue dog organizations from 43 countries on all continents. As an umbrella organization, it provides the framework, within which its members can realize their potential, by organizing testing events, courses and other events. From private dog owners wanting to train with their best friends to the highly specialized field units wanting to practice for the case of emergency.
